On June 6th, 2024, the Rhossili community will be hosting a D-Day celebration.
Leading up to this event, over a period of two weeks, we warmly welcome members of the public,
whether they're passing through or local residents, to join us in contributing to a community art installation.
Head to St Mary's Church in Rhossili [SA3 1PL]. There is parking available right next to the building.
Upon arrival, you'll find an assortment of cardboard poppy cutouts waiting for you. Select one and grab a sharpie, then let a reflective guide lead you.
Think about those who fought and what it means for us now. Reflect on things like fragility, strength, being unique, being yourself, finding hope in hard times, and bouncing back strong.
After jotting down your thoughts on the poppy, choose a ribbon and tie it onto the display. Step back and take in the beauty of the community artwork you've contributed to.
On June 6th, join us for a community celebration marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Check out the schedule for the day's events and visit the website below for more details. Also, remember that the poppy installation will be discussed during the commemoration service at St. Mary's Church, Rhossili, starting at 11:00am.
